Kelloseppäkoulu – The Finnish School of Watchmaking

THE FINNISH SCHOOL OF WATCHMAKING

is a vocational school located in Leppävaara, Espoo, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern micromechanics. We train watchmakers and micromechanics who master both time-honored methods and contemporary technology.

The school was founded in Lahti in 1944 and is operated by the Kellosepäntaidon Edistämissäätiö sr (Foundation for the Advancement of Watchmaking).

Throughout its long history, the school has maintained a strong tradition of craftsmanship and high-quality, hands-on teaching — values that continue to guide our work today.

The Finnish School of Watchmaking is one of the few remaining educational institutions established by professionals and companies within the field.

Close collaboration with the watchmaking industry has been a natural part of the school’s activities since its founding.

PROGRAMS

In the Watchmaking program, students specialize in the repair of high-precision timepieces and the manufacturing of related components.

The training provides the skills needed to work in the watch industry or in other fields requiring precision craftsmanship.

The Micromechanics program combines expertise in mechanics and electronics, prototype manufacturing, and maintenance of precision instruments.

It offers a strong foundation for product development and work in high-technology industries.

Independent Watchmaker is a two-year English-language program designed for trained or aspiring watchmakers who wish to deepen their expertise in independent, high-quality watchmaking.
